Kenya Burning is a blog dedicated to documenting the ongoing post election violence in Kenya. We believe Kenyans did not elect President Mwai Kibaki and he rigged himself in. We urge Kenyans from all walks of life to oppose this assault on our young democracy and pressure Kibaki to step down.

We also believe that it’s a waste of time for Kibaki and his people to ask Raila to seek legal redress from a court dominated by his appointees some of whom participated in the rigging of the election. It’s also an insult to our intelligence to send people like Simeon Nyachae as emissaries of peace to mediate between ODM leader and elected Kenyan president Raila Odinga and the PNU crew.

Kenyans know Kibaki lost. He should stop pretending to be the president and step down for the sake of Kenya. The days of taking power by force are long gone. We went to the ballot to express our views. Those views must be respected.
